Prince Edward Family Health Team Welcomes New Executive Director
(February 9, 2016 - Prince Edward County) Ronald Lirette, a senior executive with extensive experience
in the non-profit and government sectors, will join the Prince Edward Family Health Team as Executive
Director (ED) on February 22, 2016.
Ronald Lirette has served in senior leadership roles for a number of community-based agencies where
he has developed integrated and accessible programs in response to complex health and social issues. In
these roles, he has built consensus with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, while enhancing
access and service quality. He has an extensive background working in the fields of health promotion,
prevention, education and support, specifically within the palliative care, addictions and mental health
sectors.
“We are excited to welcome Ron as our new ED. His experience, values and working style are a good fit
with our organization and we look forward to working with him as we continue to meet the challenges
and opportunities facing the PEFHT in the future,” said Dr. Helen Cluett, PEFHT family physician and
Board President.
Lirette says he loves living in rural communities and is excited about being part of a community-focused
organization with a record of achievement in rural health care. “I am very pleased to be joining the
Prince Edward Family Health Team,” said Lirette. “I look forward to serving this community.”
The PEFHT recruitment committee, consisting of a variety of participants including physicians, staff, and
a community board representative, undertook a very thorough recruitment process involving several
levels of interviews and reference checks prior to making their selection.
“I’d like to thank Richard Christie, who has served as Interim Executive Director for the last 3 months. His
support to the FHT board, staff and patients has been most helpful,” added Dr. Cluett.
The Prince Edward Family Health Team is a community catalyst for rural health care and services and
provides a single point of access to a broad range of health care services. 21 County family physicians
and their office staff, plus clinical and administrative staff of the PEFHT form the team and are affiliated
with a number of specialists and work closely with community service provider organisations. In 2016,
the Team celebrates 10 years providing integrated, patient-centred primary healthcare to County
residents.
Welcome Ron Lirette!
